We had our first blocking rehearsal today at the Michigan Theatre.

Script-in-Hand

The Script-In-Hand Series is curated by Ann Holt. She has directed staged readings of LOBBY HERO, LION IN WINTER and appeared in RABBIT HOLE and LETTICE AND LOVEAGE. She recently retired as the Executive Director of Center Stage Jackson (MI) where she has organized readings for several years.

If your group or organization is interested in a reading for entertainment or educational purposes, please get in touch and we will put something together to suit the needs of your audience.

AND WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

A staged reading is just a form of theater where the actors read from scripts instead of memorizing their lines. They may sit or stand in fixed positions or use minimal stage movement.

Readers' Theater is the staged reading of a fully developed or classic play, where the reading is itself the performance.

WHY READERS' THEATER OR A STAGE READING ANYWAY?

Because there are people with talent who don't have time, physical stamina, or memorization skills. Because there are so many wonderful plays to share both published and unpublished. Because it seems like a good idea.
